Your baby will soon be a toddler and is rapidly approaching their first birthday – it has gone so fast! As they grow its just amazing watching how their little personalities develop and watching as they discover things for the first time – so many exciting adventures ahead! Sleep Baby’s sleeping patterns will be similar to last month but you may soon find your baby is dropping one of their naps as they may not settle or just sit talking to their teddies rather than getting some sleep.
Try dropping their morning nap first rather than their afternoon nap as an overtired toddler can make bedtime difficult. Communication At 11 months old, your baby will have a good idea of what they like and don’t like and they are not afraid to share this with you.
You may have experienced baby’s first tantrum if you tried to take away something they were still playing with and you may also be hearing the word ‘no’ a lot.
They will also understand quite a few words and commands now and you may find them pointing to things you mention, which can be a great game to play. Movement Your adventurous, soon-to-be toddler will most likely enjoy lots of climbing at the moment, whether that’s the stairs, the sofa, you or maybe even their cot, you will wish you had eyes in the back of your head.
They will also enjoy opening and closing cupboards and drawers and emptying out your kitchen cupboards, just make sure they can’t access something they shouldn’t. Feeding Hopefully you will be enjoying plenty of mealtimes as a family as baby is able to enjoy more of the things you and your partner may eat.
It’s still important to keep their salt and sugar intake to a minimum as their growing kidneys can’t process too much salt and added sugar isn’t recommended for their growing teeth. You – 11 Months Post-Partum If you are returning to work, then you may be thinking about this about now, if you haven’t returned already.
It can be a massive adjustment going back to work after almost a year off and you may be feeling a range of emotions both about leaving your baby and getting back to a working mindset.
Your baby will be fine and although will need a little adjustment, it’s amazing how quickly they will adapt to their new routine and you will amaze yourself at how organised you can be.
Be kind to yourself, you will be fulfilling at least two roles now and it can be a real juggling act, but with time you will fine a way to adjust.
