You should be seeing your midwife again this week and if you are lucky you will get to hear baby’s heartbeat which is usually between 120 –160 bpm. Some people say if your baby’s heartbeat is over 140 bpm then it’s a girl, but unfortunately this is just a myth.

Baby Baby is getting ready for another big growth spurt and can now smile and frowns, although at the moment these movements are completely random as they have no control over their muscles yet. They can also move their hands and if you can see inside your bump you may see their hands forming fists and even linking hands – can you believe you will be holding those little hands in a few months' time!!! Mum Your 16 week midwife appointment should happen this week and you should receive the results from all those blood tests taken at your booking appointment.
You will probably also have to do another urine test, get use to these as they will want you to pee in a pot regularly from now on.
