The end of the First Trimester is in sight, you only have one more week after this to go mum – you’ve got this! Baby is still growing at rapid rates and is now the size of dried date (4.1cm head to bottom) and you may also start looking like you’ve eaten too many pies, but it’s all good – let’s take a look at what’s happening on the inside. Baby Your baby may have more human features developing this week but they will still resemble an alien, as their head is huge and takes up half of their body size! Their ears are now fully formed and moving closer to their final destination, although they won’t be able to hear for a few more weeks. They’re tongue is fully developed and they will be busy practising yawning, chewing and swallowing.
Baby will also be busting some moves and can now do somersaults, forward rolls and stretches, although it is unlikely you will be able to feel these new skills until a few more weeks. Mum Noticing more wind recently, and I’m not talking about the weather?
The pregnancy hormone progesterone is doing an amazing job at looking after baby but the not so flattering side effects are it leaves you feeling bloated and well, a little gassy.
You may find grazing throughout the day helps here rather than having large meals but on the positive baby may find your gurgling stomach relaxing, every cloud and all that.
