Your pregnancy at 38 weeks

You should have another midwife appointment this week, they will do the usual checks and also discuss what might happen if you go over 41 weeks, but hopefully you will be meeting your baby very soon… Baby As your baby is now fully developed, they will just be gaining a little more weight over the next few weeks. They currently weigh about 3kg similar to a brick and both their brain and lungs will keep maturing, which isn’t a bad thing. Baby could arrive at any time now between 38 and 42 weeks so within the next 4 weeks you will finally get to hold her!!! Mum You may find your bump drops over the next week or so as baby becomes engaged ready for labour.
